Our History

Calvary Baptist Church held its first worship service in April of 1978. Three families felt led of the Lord to begin an independent, evangelistic, Baptist church to reach the Dover/ York area for Jesus Christ. Calvary Baptist Church of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, served as our “mother church,” helping with financial and prayer support until our church was self-supporting.

Our Purpose

Calvary Baptist Church exists for the purpose of glorifying God and proclaiming His Word.

Our great commandment is to love God.
“Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy  heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.”
Matthew 22:36,37

Our great commission is to go into all the world with the gospel message.
“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”  Mark 16:15

Our great commitment is to faithfully serve Jesus Christ.
“Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.”  I Corinthians 4:2
