Visiting for the First Time
What can you expect?
How do people normally dress?
Our chief concern is that you come, not what you wear when you do. Most people in the church typically wear something in the range of business casual for most services. On Sunday morning, some of the men elect to wear suits and the women more formal dresses. On Wednesday evening most of our folks are dressed fairly casually.
We are here to help.
Where are the nurseries? Is there a class for my 5 year old? Where do I go for Sunday School? These are just a few of the questions people may have when they first walk into a church. Our greeters and ushers are in the lobby and around the building, and they are happy to help you with any need you may have.
We are intentional.
Why do you do what you do? When you visit, we hope you see that everything we do has a purpose. Our music is designed to inspire people with Scriptural truths to help them worship the Lord. Our preaching is Biblical to help you gain an understanding of God’s Word and apply it to your own life. Our Wednesday service emphasizes prayer, and our activities encourage fellowship. “And they continued steadfastly in the apostle’s doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.” Acts 2:42
We are here to worship.
Is your worship conservative or contemporary? Do you have a Junior Church for my toddlers? Do visitors have to stand up and introduce themselves? At Calvary Baptist Church, we want your whole family to worship the Lord with us. Our services are designed to exalt, and magnify the Lord Jesus Christ in a conservative worship manner. We do not single out our guests, but make information available at our visitor center where you may choose to register your visit with us. We have two different Junior Church meetings on Sunday morning so that our children (3years-3rd grade) can be taught an age-appropriate lesson from the Bible.
